Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is an Indian actress, singer-songwriter, and musician. Her main focus is Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Annayum, a Malayalam film, was her Malayalam debut as an actor. Andrea Jeremiah has been raised in a Tamil Nadu Anglo-Indian family. Andrea's father was an Madras High Court lawyer. She also has a younger sister, currently employed as a research assistant in Leuven Belgium. Jeremiah was brought up within Chennai. He went to National Public School. After graduation, he studied at Women's Christian College. Andrea started classes in classical piano when she was eighteen, was classified as a "geek" and was aspiring to be a psychiatric until her board exam in 12th grade. She was part of The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This group formed her singing and music composition career. The actress was also a stage artist in her college and was a part of several productions staged by The Madras Players and EVAM. Andrea was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea's theatre career began with the play of Girishkarnad Nagamandala. She was a part of Shiva as part of a coffee ad in 2006. She also starred in a TV show broadcast on Podhigai. She has performed all over India. She had a small role in the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). She sang in a song to Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The director asked her to play one of his lead female characters for Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea played Kalyani who is a homewife whose husband has been involved in an affair. Andrea was allegedly targeted for blackmail. Andrea was chosen for the part following Simran and Tabu both actresses were approached by the producers. The film came out in early 2010. It was announced in the beginning of 2011. be a minor role which was released in early 2010. Venkat Prabhu's film with a number of stars Mankatha which was released in August 2011. She made her Malayalam film debut with Rajeev Rathi's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
